Hypnotherapy is one of the most successful methods for stopping smoking and several studies back this up.
One famous study, conducted by the University of Iowa in 1992, collected the data from 600 stop smoking studies involving nearly 72,000 people. It found that hypnotherapy was three times more effective than nicotine replacement therapy and 15 times more effective than trying to quit cold turkey.
The effects are subtle, but profound. I should know, as I gave up smoking via hypnotherapy at the age of 34. When I walked in I smoked 15 a day (more when I went out) and, when I walked out, I never smoked a cigarette again. I didn’t feel different, I didn’t even think I’d been hypnotised but, it worked!
Over the years I have helped many people break their smoking habit and offer two methods of treatment: A single session approach for highly motivated people and a five-session approach for people who need to work on their motivation and willpower.
Stop Smoking in just one session
This is for people who are highly motivated and ready to quit right now. No ‘ifs,’ no ‘buts’ and no excuses. If you are that motivated, then this is the method for you. A one-and-a-half-hour habit breaking hypnotherapy session where we build up a complete picture of your smoking habit and then break that habit cigarette by cigarette. You walk in a smoker and, less than two hours later, you walk out a non-smoker. And that’s that.

Stop Smoking in five sessions
This is for people who want to quit but have low motivation. If you feel you need a little extra push in the right direction, then this is the method for you. Using a combination of CBT techniques and hypnotherapy, over the course of five weeks we work on your motivation and willpower and deal with any objections you may hold. Together we will enhance all the reasons you want to quit, plus the benefits in stopping, all building up to the big day . . . the day you stop.
