About Daniel Fryer

I am a mental health and wellbeing consultant, coach, therapist, self-help author, writer, workshop and webinar developer. My focus is on high-performance and highly motivated people who want tools and strategies to help them manage their anxiety, stress, and burnout and become calmer, happier, and more productive. Am I a Specialist?

14th January 2013/in Anxiety, CBT, Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, Insomnia, Pain Control, Panic Attacks, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Psychosexual Dysfunction, REBT, Stop Smoking, Work Stress/by Daniel Fryer

People often ask me if I specialise. It’s a simple question with a slightly less-than-simple answer, as my reply lies somewhere between yes and no. Technically, I specialise in that branch of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) known as rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) and clinical hypnotherapy. With them I can successfully help people manage and […]

Give Your Resolutions Some Resolve!

6th January 2013/in CBT, Goals, Psychotherapy, REBT/by Daniel Fryer

According to a recent poll of 4,000 adults by Cancer Research UK, almost four in 10 people break their New Year’s resolutions within a fortnight, and only one in 11 will still be sticking to them in six month’s time. Be it stopping smoking, quitting chocolate or alcohol, or going to the gym, the biggest […]

What does it feel like?

13th December 2012/in Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, Unconscious/by Daniel Fryer

When someone comes to see you for hypnotherapy, you spend a long time talking about the state of hypnosis; what it is and is not, what it will feel like and so on, as it never truly feels anything like what you think it is going to feel like. Which begs the question, what exactly […]

Hypnotherapy: The Best Way to Stop Smoking

11th December 2012/in Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, Stop Smoking/by Daniel Fryer

In the run up to Christmas and the inevitable New Year’s Resolutions that follow, smoking (or, more importantly, quitting) comes to the forefront of many minds. The NHS always gives a big seasonal push to stopping smoking. They’ve got initiatives, supports packs and advice on a vast array of nicotine replacement therapies (NRTs) from patches […]

Work: Are You Buckling Under the Strain?

3rd December 2012/in CBT, Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy, REBT, Work Stress/by Daniel Fryer

Work stress can come in a variety of guises, be it long hours, a workload that’s far too heavy, deadlines that are way too intense, interpersonal difficulties, performance expectations, sitting still for too long and doing repetitive things, the threat of redundancy, and more; the list goes on. And the impact of it on the […]

In CBT, what do we mean by beliefs?

28th November 2012/in CBT, REBT/by Daniel Fryer

As I’ve mentioned before (click here) Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) is a form of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) that has a very particular view on your emotional problems, namely that you are disturbing yourself by the beliefs that you hold in any given event or situation. But, what does REBT mean by beliefs and […]

Unleash the Power of your Mind!

27th November 2012/in Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, Mind, Unconscious/by Daniel Fryer

Your unconscious mind is the vast and powerful storehouse of everything you are. With hypnotherapy, you have an incredible tool to access that storehouse and with it, not only can you harness the power of you unconscious mind, but you can also use it to realise your full potential. And yes, that is a picture […]

Healthy Beliefs: As Easy as ABC

27th November 2012/in CBT, Psychotherapy, REBT/by Daniel Fryer

In a slight case of acronym overkill, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) is a form of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) that takes a simple-yet-cunning approach to mental wellness, where activating events (A) trigger beliefs (B) that cause consequences (C). To find out more, read on…

What is Hypnotherapy?

27th November 2012/in Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, Mind, Unconscious/by Daniel Fryer

Hypnotherapy is, as the name would suggest, therapy in the state of hypnosis. There are many different therapies available, depending on what it is that you want to achieve, but the state of hypnosis is the state of mind used to help you achieve those aims. What then, exactly, is this state of mind and […]
